Coal burners to the rescue!

A large percentage of the electricity used to charge electric car batteries is produced by burning coal. How is this saving the environment? Until we have a huge increase in wind and solar power generation or nuclear, all that electric cars do is move the CO2 and other fossil fuel pollutants to a smoke stack somewhere else.
