Newt Is the Id.

Reader comment on: Gingrich South Carolina Victory Speech

Submitted by Walter Sobchak (United States), Jan 21, 2012 23:31

"Mr. Gingrich can come off sounding almost angry or with a chip on his shoulder"

Can? Newt is channelling the anger of middle America against the depradations of the Obama regime. And the Republican base loves it.

The problem is that the mass of unaffiliated unpolitical voters in the general election are far more scared, than they are angry, and they don't want an angry candidate, they want one who is cool, calm, and reassuring.

Newt's problem is that he does not have, and has never had, another gear.
