Keystone was bull headed as to the route:Reader comment on: Robert Samuelson on Keystone XL Submitted by Lyle (United States), Jan 22, 2012 09:33 The columnist points out that Keystone knew the pipeline route picked would draw opposition including from the republican governor and legislature of Nebraska. It picked the route to save money and thought it could bull doze all opposition including Nebraska opposition. The columnist points out that the company has a pipeline on the eastern edge of Nebraska that it could have chosen as the route and not have drawn the states objections. Also when the pipeline is completed it will increase the price of gas in the upper plains states as oil at Cushing OK is $10 less than oil on the gulf coast due to the discoveries in ND. So a rational person in the Dakotas etc should oppose the pipeline because it will increase their cost of living as well. Note: Comments are moderated by the editor and are subject to editing.
