I can't agree. I think, first, Romney WILL win; I hope he does. But my hope is not based in anything very . . . hopeful :)

That's because the Republicans have failed to make any kind of clear case other than "We Hate Obama." Their rhetoric is inconsistent, divisive, sound-byte-y . . . and, worse, their choosing Mr. Romney is done with a sort of backhanded apology. I have little confidence.

I voted for Mr. Obama last time. I was so disappointed by Pres. Bush's misguided, mishandled war and by his administration's failure to do anything to mitigate the mortgage crisis--in my opinion, the main thing that tanked the economy.

I'm exactly the kind of voter the Republicans should be targeting--the one who will switch--and they have me this time. But just barely . . .
