Yes but...Reader comment on: An Illuminating Yet Bizarre Debate Submitted by Dubious blogg (United Kingdom), Oct 4, 2012 07:07 Interesting and fairly balanced article, however I must confess I personally am more swayed by the feel of the two candidates - Romney's off-record comments seem to indicate a person fairly unaware and dismissive of the have-nots, comfortable with his rich friends, whereas Obama at least professes to consider the benefit to populace as a whole rather than have the near-loathing of the poor that Romney seems to harbour. Even Romney doesn't see unregulated free-market as a tolerable goal, as the Platonic ideal of a fully free market, in an identical manner as the Platonic ideal of a fully socialist government, is an oversimplified ideal that becomes tyrannical if allowed free rein and is too narrow to deal with the varied activites of a large and complicated society. Domination by a large central government, or the democratic process being subverted by large corporation lobbying organisations, are both forces to be reckoned with.
