On Truths

Reader comment on: Postmodern Patriot

In logic there is the law of noncontradiction. There cannot be two (or many) contradicting truths in a matter. For instance, if you try to cross the street when a bus is coming, and it hits you, either you will live or die. You cannot do both. It cannot be day and night at the same time and place. The song "Oh, Suzanna" says "it rained all night the day I left, the weather it was dry; the sun so hot I froze to death". It is funny because of the impossible contradictions. It is difficult to see how an apparently intelligent athlete can appear to be so dumb (another contradiction).
