Amen to Erick Tippett's praise for Marva Collins and horror at our current (anti-)educational system. The focus of the blame falls on John Dewey, who was (despite his pretenses) anti-reason, and pro-"social adjustment," which is a vague word for obedience to the gang.

The greatest mind in the field was Maria Montessori. Rather than obedience, her guiding principle was independence.
