Reader comment on: Republican Presidential Debate

Submitted by Tom Perkins (United States), Aug 12, 2011 06:39

"Republican voters are going to have to decide whether they want someone as unwilling to compromise as Ms. Bachmann portrays herself, or if they'd rather have a compromiser who might be able to work more effectively with Democrats and independents, or at least win their votes."

There are enough Democrats--a few--and enough independents--most--who are disgusted with the President and his party's actions the better question is why would the Republicans risk nominating someone who is "moderate" enough that the Democrats will get some more of what they want out of that "moderate" GOP candidate? If the GOP props such a RINO in front of the electorate, why would these people vote for the kinda-sorta-Democrat when they can vote Obama back in and through gridlock guarantee no more of the Dem agenda is advanced?
