For profit article based on ideology, not reality

Reader comment on: The War on For-Profit Education

While I am a huge fan of Ira's work and of the FOC blog, I must disagree on the For Profit Education Piece.

Unfortunately, article does not go deeply enough into the deceptive sales practices employed by the For Profit Ed schools almost uniformly across the industry. Nor does it look at the fraudulent accounting practices applied by the schools in accounting for sales and enrollment figures. Lastly, the articles misses the human tragedy of the students of the few students who complete the programs are left with worthless degrees, no jobs and high debt levels which can not be expunged in bankruptcy court.

I agree with Ira's philosophy regarding the students free choice and the lack of a comparison to state schools, but when you dig deeper you see the FP schools must be reined in.
