This is a sorry group of candidates. If I were the Republican party, I would cancel the remaining primary debates. The candidates are just trying to out-crazy each other, and the potential general election ads just keep piling up. As a good friend said recently, Roosevelt won a landslide victory in 1936 with an unemployment rate a lot higher than it is now. Those who hope that 9% unemployment could get Bachmann elected are sadly mistaken. The more debates, the more they all look so far outside the mainstream that they are unelectable. As a Democrat and supporter of the President, I love these debates - it is like watching a Nascar pileup, hockey fight or baseball brawl. I think it could be its own weekly reality show.
