Aside from the endemic socialist mental set of our "intellectuals", I think this tendency to grasp onto absurd stereotypes of evil businessmen, is simply a sign of tired, unthinking writers who can't come up with any original plot lines. Thinking up novel ideas for stories is hard work, and these guys are only getting about a half million a piece for their labors, so what do you expect -- brilliant first-hand story-telling?
