Reader comment on: Oil Baron Tex Richman

I grew up thinking The Muppet Show was the pinnacle of television entertainment. I was really looking forward to seeing the new movie and introducing my daughter to the Muppets. However, like you, when I read the synopsis of the movie I decided I could spend my time and money elsewhere. My husband and I have an excavating business and have worked for oil companies building and reclaiming drilling locations. We paid our employees enviable wages, which was possible by a few Tex Richmans. We have yet to be paid by an environmentalist to do anything.

Alas I read the synopsis of the movie only after coming home from plunking down my $12 for a ticket. You were smart to figure out what you would have been getting into. And you are right, the old TV show was excellent.
