WAYS TO IMPLEMENT SPEED TRAINS IN USAReader comment on: GE's High Speed Rail Angle Submitted by ROBERT FULFORD (United States), Sep 20, 2012 16:44 Can the rails in the USA handle high speed trains? If not, maybe if the GE trains can operate at lower speeds we can implement GE trains in the USA now. As the rails are updated GE can adjust the throttle up and incresase the speed. There are now rubber ties that replace the wood ties. Maybe that is part of the answer Consider starting in the center part of the USA where open space is more available for new tracks. The East coast has trains and subways to meet short distances needs. Knowing that some people do not like to fly. Lets look at our transportation system. Planes take people to medium and long range locations. Cars go to short and medium distance locations unless its a long vacation. It sometimes takes 2 or 3 days by car. This is where high speed trains are needed. They can reduce travel to medium range locations to hours vs days . With the population getting older there is a need for have a high speed train system. it is important to realize that these people will appreciate and will need the use of the trains to travel to family in other states Note: Comments are moderated by the editor and are subject to editing.
