Regulators are not perfect, and regulations are not perfect - on that we agree, as would every person other than whoever dreamt up the idea that 100% of children would be at grade level in NCLB. I have yet to read a persuasive argument that things would be better without regulations or regulators. Maybe business would make more money at the expense of public health, but we would have a massive proliferation of lawsuits (yes, there are many now, but without regulation everyone and their Mom would go to court over any and every perceived injury). And yes, if we are going to have regulations we should have good people enforcing them or else they aren't worth the paper they are printed on.

On another note, I am glad that I can now respond to your responses without having the site get mixed up. Makes this back and forth easier. Thanks!
