What you also won't hear is that Democrats controlled both houses of Congress from January 2007 on. If Obama "inherited" a gigantic mess when he was sworn in on January 20, 2009 -- after two full years of Nancy Pelosi running the House and Harry Reid running the Senate -- then the idea that it was the *Republicans* running the country into the ditch is a little hard to buy. I mean, unless you're stupid.

Excellent point. On the other hand, the president is the president, and it wasn't like he was vetoing Tarp or a lot of Pelosi-Reid spending, either.
