I read Ms. Dowd's piece after seeing several of these "anti-Semitic" attacks, which sharply aroused my curiosity. Could she really have written something like that? The answer, I found, is no. I found no suggestion of anti-Semitism; rather, simply a description of a person in terms of his political significance in the Romney-Ryan campaign. I agree with Will's comment, that we (those opposing Romney-Ryan) are better than this sort of spurious reasoning. Let's stick with the facts, where fortunately we have a huge advantage, and avoid tainting them with interpretations like this one.
