Just to be clear: It's my Jesus, not Dowd, I'm defending here. The reference link you provided as to the origin of the "snake" label I felt needed some contextualization to show Jesus wasn't lambasting the Jews qua Jews in a general sense, but rather a class of individuals within Judaism who had done their adherents great harm. As to whether Dowd was using this slam in an anitsemitic way? She's on her own as far as I'm concerned. Wouldn't surprise me at all.
