Reader comment on: The Traffic Paint Shortage

Submitted by scruffydog900 (United States), May 24, 2010 11:40

Actually my Dear Watson, the traffic paint shortage is caused by a shortage of resin caused by: 1) a poor harvest of the resin raw material caused by bad weather 2) a number of resin plants being closed during the recent recession. 3) an upturn in demand caused by a recovering economy. If the FDA caused any problems with methacrylate, it only related to consumers, not industrial formulators. And yes, it is probably better that it is not used as nail polish.
