Keep them in high school and then send them to college

Reader comment on: Obama State of the Union

Not only did Obama tell the states to keep kids in school who don't want to be there (draining resources from those who do). He then wants to send them to college! (Okay, I'm misstating a bit but not much.) More jobs for union teachers! Don't teach to the test, but students need to get the credential, even if it's hollow. I suspect that drop-outs who go back for their GED would learn a helluva lot more than being forced to stay in school.

But then the problem is that our workforce doesn't get the right training in high school and college to get jobs -- like Ira, i was a liberal arts major, but I didn't learn how to do sweat-joint plumbing there -- so we need to send them back to community colleges to get apprenticeship training in the green, clean jobs of tomorrow. The convoluting reasoning throughout was amazing.

But Mitch Daniels made me pine for him to go back and talk with his wife.

The biggest fraudulent section in Obama's speech was when he took credit for the domestic oil and gas production boom. Truly amazing.
