"I don't see how checking email while driving is much worse than fiddling with the radio or the air conditioner or talking to the person in the passenger seat or reading the roadside billboards." Seriously? How about reading your dead-tree mail while driving, reading a book or a newspaper while driving (I have seen someone doing this on the Mass Pike)?

If you're saying that the bans are not the solution to the problem, that's something we can talk about. If you're saying that there isn't a problem, there may be less to discuss.
